The investigation into a double homicide on Manitowoc’s southwest-side over 5 weeks ago is continuing with no arrests yet. 51 year old Richard Miller and his 19 year old daughter, Jocelyn, were found dead in their Dale Street residence. Police Chief Nick Reimer tells Seehafer News that investigators are doing many interviews and reviewing a large amount of Information.
Reimer explains this is a long and complicated process.
The chief said with search warrants and obtaining evidence, “you have to be careful and not lose a case on a technicality.”
Meanwhile the officer-involved fatal shooting in Manitowoc last month remains under investigation by the Justice Department’s Division of Criminal Investigation. The incident happened after a male threatened a police officer during an emergency call September 16th in the 1500 block of S. 35th Street. Chief Reimer gave Seehafer News an update on the probe late last week.
Reimer on those who might question the pace of the outside investigation.
Reffering to the pace of the investigation, Chief Reimer added, “this is nothing out of the ordinary and it just takes time.”
