The Manitowoc Police Department is revving up to host their annual Crime Prevention Day at the County Expo Grounds on Saturday. The event will run from 10:00 AM-3:00 PM, and allows citizens learn about many different aspects of crime prevention. SGT Andrew Trilling was on the WCUB Breakfast Club earlier this week to discuss the event.
There will be a couple different displays and demonstrations about dogs that are both a part of the Police Department and that are not. SGT Trilling spoke about what happens to the dogs in the K-9 Program after they “retire”.
Another major part of Crime Prevention Day is the yearly drug take back which is done by the Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Robert Herman is encouraging citizens who have any prescription or over the counter drugs that are no longer needed to bring them to the Merchants Building to dispose of them properly. Pills should be placed in a plastic baggie, but liquids creams and sprays are required to be in their original container.
