A Dane County Circuit judge has given a Middleton man a sentence of life without parole for killing his 82-year-old landlady in 2016. The judge cited the brutality of the attack and Jack Hamann’s refusal to take responsibility for the killing when handing down his sentence. Police accused Hamann of beating Agnes Braum so badly her skull was broken into several pieces. Her body was found by relatives four days later. Hamann was found guilty last August.
