More hospital patients are leaving unpaid bills behind after receiving treatment. A report from the Wisconsin Hospital Association finds a total of one-point-one-billion dollars in uncompensated health care services during 2017. That’s a 14-percent increase over the previous year. Milwaukee County hospitals represent almost 30 percent of the total unpaid bills. The report didn’t offer an explanation for the increase.
