Republicans in the Wisconsin Assembly have filed a motion seeking to join a lawsuit over legislative boundaries which was filed three years ago. A group of Democratic voters filed the original federal suit claiming Republican lawmakers unconstitutionally drew boundary lines to consolidate their party’s power. The Assembly Republicans want in because they say Attorney General Brad Schimel might lose next month’s election and a new attorney general could change the course of the legal action. The Republican Schimel is defending the boundaries.
