A Wisconsin Rapids man has pleaded guilty in the death of his 15-month-old son. Thirty-three-year-old James Georgeson was convicted of second-degree reckless homicide Wednesday after agreeing to a plea deal with prosecutors. Police say Georgeson called 9-1-1 in February 2017 to report his son wasn’t breathing. The child was taken to a Wisconsin Rapids hospital and died two days later. Prosecutors say autopsy results showed the child died of brain injuries after being shaken. Georgeson initially told investigators his son was napping and woke up gasping for air. Georgeson later admitted that he became upset when the boy threw a sippy cup. He is scheduled to be sentenced in December.
