Mike Moustakas stroked a two-out run-scoring single to right field in the 10th inning to give the Milwaukee Brewers a 3-2 win over Colorado Thursday afternoon. Jeff Levering with the call.
The Brewers won their ninth game in a row while taking a one-game-to-none National League Division Series lead. Milwaukee led 2-0 on a homer by Christian Yelich with a man on base in the third and the Rockies were limited to one hit over eight innings until they tied the game in the ninth, with the usually sure handed Jeremy Jeffress at the mound. Despite allowing the tying run, Manager Craig Counsell says that Jeffress battled to keep the game tied.
Counsell also says his team needs to take advantage of more offensive chances.
“The Mouse” spoke about his walk-off winner.
The Rockies and Brewers meet again this afternoon in Miller Park in a game starting at 3:15 P-M. Jhoulys Chacin starts for Milwaukee and Tyler Anderson for Colorado.
