The original story given by three teenagers didn’t hold up and they have been arrested for poaching a deer in Brown County. Somebody called the sheriff’s office to report seeing flashlights in a wooded area. Two 16-year-olds from Athens and an 18-year-old from Antigo told deputies they had hit a deer with their car and they were searching for it. The car wasn’t damaged and the three admitted they had shot the deer with a bow-and-arrow. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is handling the case.
