Many of our local High School Cross-Country teams competed yesterday at the Reedsville Invitational. Valders, which is ranked 2nd in the State Division-2 poll, captured the Boys’ team title with a low score of 29, compared to 63 for runnerup Brillion. Coach Bill Dietrich said the Vikings had 6 of their runners finish in the top 10, led by Clay Taylor’s 3rd in a time of 16:55. Manitowoc Lutheran placed 3rd with Josh Zander the Lancers best finisher at #8. Mishicot was 6th paced by Kory Wiegert in 23rd, Roncalli came in 7th led by Ethan Yanda’s 22nd and the host Panthers were 7th fueled by Derrick Cherney’s 11th place effort. Ozaukee won the Girls team title with 40. Valders was 2nd at 55 with Alayna Litz the Vikes’ best finisher at 6th in 21:56. Reedsville was 5th led by Trinity Schlorf at 16th, Roncalli was 8th paced by Megan Moczynski 27th and Lutheran came in 9th with Paige Zirbel placing 26th.
