Both Southbound-lanes of I-43, just north of County Trunk CS in Manitowoc were re-opened to traffic just before 6:00 last night following a tractor-trailer rollover crash yesterday morning. Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Deputy Inspector Jason Orth tells Seehafer News that a 54-year-old Two Rivers man was operating a semi-tractor & hauling a Polar tanker trailer containing a hot, liquid asphalt material when he lost control, and entered a ditch, south of Middle Road. Orth explained that the unit rolled over several times, before coming to a stop. There was substantial damage to both the tanker and trailer and the Manitowoc County Haz-Mat-Team was called to clean-up the leaking material. The truck driver, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of what were described as minor injuries. Those agencies assisting at the scene were Manitowoc Police, Manitowoc & Silver Creek Fire & Rescue, along with the Valders Fire Department.
