A spokesperson for Madison’s mayor says Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents may have left the area after making dozens of arrests. Local law enforcement agencies have complained that the feds didn’t tell them what they were doing. A statement from ICE says a four-day operation in 14 Wisconsin counties resulted in 83 arrests, 20 of them in Dane County. Forty-four of the arrests were for criminal activity and more than 20 of the people taken into custody had been deported in the past.
