Courtney Pelot has returned home. A 2012 graduate of Lincoln High School and Miss Wisconsin 2016—Pelot has been hired as the Marketing and Brand Strategy Manager for United Way-Manitowoc County.
Courtney earned her undergraduate degree from UW-Madison in Communication Arts in 2016 and spent her year of service as Miss Wisconsin promoting her platform “Open Books-Open Opportunity promoting Literacy in Our Communities”. She recalls as a young girl being with her mother during an event at Silver Lake College entitled “Week of a young child.”
Pelot says this job is a “perfect marriage” combining her and the local organization’s goal of advocating for children’s literacy. She brings a breadth of knowledge across digital and traditional marketing, branding and social media.
And the 24-year-old Manitowoc local looks forward to a long and productive career.
Her first day was Monday with a news release stating “The entire UWMC team is excited for Pelot to lead the marketing and brand strategy efforts going forward for UWMC and this thriving, resilient community.”
