The Humane Animal Welfare Society in Waukesha is hoping to find homes for 100 dogs and cats relocated from flood-devastated North Carolina. The animals are being placed in eight Wisconsin shelters. The cross-country trip in the aftermath of Hurricane Florence is an effort to open up space in overwhelmed North Carolina kennels. Several organizations are working together to fund the effort.
