A Republican state senator is working to suspend new regulations aimed at slowing the spread of chronic wasting disease. Senator Steve Nass has scheduled an October 1st meeting of the Legislature’s rules committee so a vote can be taken on delaying or killing the rule backed by the governor. A spokesperson for Nass says the carcass movement rules are too difficult to implement this year and the Department of Natural Resources is underestimating the cost for farmers to upgrade fences.
