A 35-year-old Kewaunee County man is being held on a $25 thousand cash bond on charges of Possession of Child pornography and sex offender registry violations. Sean Evansen—a registered sex offender in the state of Wisconsin—was booked into the Kewaunee County Jail last week. Sheriff Matt Joski says that a “cyber-tip” was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children who flagged “a significant amount of known child porn which was uploaded via a picture sharing application. Joski says this tip was sent through the local internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce and the registered user was believed to live in Kewaunee County. Last Thursday—the State Department of Criminal Investigations and the Kewaunee County Sheriff’s Department conducted a search warrant at a residence in the town of Casco—which turned up several thousand images of child porn. Evansen was subsequently taken into custody and awaits an initial court appearance.
