Kleefisch Backs Off Kneeling Claim

Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch now says she didn’t see her opponent kneel during the national anthem during an event and she believes him when he says he didn’t.  The Republican Kleefisch says she was told by others that Democrat Mandela Barnes was protesting the anthem over the treatment of black Americans.  Kleefisch won’t say who told her.  Barnes says he doesn’t consider her back-tracking to be an apology, saying she’s only sorry because she got caught.
