A fired guard at a Wisconsin juvenile corrections facility is being reinstated with back pay. The Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission determined last week that Rosemary Esterholm was wrongly fired in March. Esterholm falsely claimed he had repeatedly checked on a teen inmate who suffered severe brain damage after hanging herself in her cell at Copper Lake School for Girls. Both Copper Lake and Lincoln Hills School for Boys have been under criminal investigation since 2015 for prisoner abuse and child neglect. The facilities are set to close by 2021.
