Manitowoc Public School Superintendent Mark Holzman says classes will resume today at Lincoln High School. That follows school not being in session Thursday & Friday due to a ceiling collapse in a third floor classroom. Holzman issued an update early last evening saying, “All Lincoln students will (should) enter the building through the JFK Fieldhouse where we will welcome them with an all school assembly, beginning at 8:20 this morning. We are excited to have out students back at Lincoln.”
The superintendent says 12 classrooms on the 3rd floor will need additional supports before students and staff can return to them. He advised that the remaining classrooms on the floor & the remainder of the building have been deemed to be structurally sound. Classes held in those third-floor classrooms will be moved to new locations in the school until the repairs are completed. Holzman added, “We would like to thank families for their patience and understanding. Safety and well-being of students and staff is our number one priority.” Coincidentally, Superintendent Holzman is scheduled to appear on WOMT’s Be-My-Guest with Lee Douglas this morning at 9:30.
