During 2017, college-age students lost much more money than older consumers. The median loss last year was 400-dollars. Law enforcement officials say the scams are becoming more sophisticated, with the bad guys using social media, email and texting to steal money. The experts say, if you get a suspicious call or text, don’t call back. You can use a scam-tracking site to look up the unrecognized number.
