Lincoln High School students will have a second day off following a ceiling collapse in a third floor classroom Wednesday afternoon. Superintendent Mark Holzman.
Holzman says that a “loud crash” was heard and subsequently reported about 2:30.
The Superintendent was asked if the recent heavy rains played a role in the collapse.
No one was in the classroom at the time of the collapse and no one was hurt. An estimated dollar damage amount is not available at this time. The investigation today will focus on all third floor and adjacent classrooms and based of that information the district will make an announcement later this afternoon if school will resume on Monday. All afterschool athletic practices and games will occur today as scheduled and citizens are asked to e-mail questions or concerns to the district as offices at Lincoln remain closed today as well.
