Convicted killer Steven Avery has had his request for a new trial denied. Avery, who was convicted for killing freelance photographer Teresa Halbach back in 2005, and his attorney, Kathleen Zellner, argued that prosecutors withheld information during his initial trial. Judge Angela Sutkiewicz sided with the state, saying one key piece of evidence in question, a CD containing thousands of files which Zellner claims was withheld, was turned over to Avery’s attorneys saying “This is not disputed by either party in this manner.” Zellner was obviously disappointed in the decision, saying “We look forward to experiencing the best of Wisconsin’s Judiciary as we advance to a higher court.”
