With the new school year just underway in the lakeshore area Two Rivers Public School Superintendent Lisa Quistorf said they have a renewed focus on what’s known as the “Kids At Hope” program. Quistorf explains the major point behind it is ”they believe all children are capable of success…no exceptions.” She added the program started in the district four years ago, when they met the founder, Rick Miller.
Quistorf explained that at a recent “in-service day” with their entire staff at Two Rivers High School they reviewed Kids-at-Hope, and also invited other area districts to “come together as a county.”
The Two Rivers school leader said with drug and prescription abuse affecting local families and ultimately children, the staff is focusing on strategies to help youngsters in those situations to become resilient.
