A Racine woman could receive up to 10 years behind bars for scalding a toddler two years ago. Tierra Lee was accused of dunking her former girlfriend’s two-year-old child in hot water. Doctors at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin reported the victim had first- and second-degree burns consistent with the witness report. The incident happened in May 2016. The Racine County district attorney’s office is recommending she serve seven-to-eight years in prison. Lee is scheduled to be sentenced September 14th. Lee told police the burns occurred May 1 while she was giving the child a bath. After she left the room to get a towel she heard the child screaming. She called Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints for advice before leaving for Chicago and putting the child in the care of a relative. A few days later the relative called Lee to tell her the burns had gotten worse. Lee remained in Illinois until police contacted her from the hospital May 7.
