A major honor for Manitowoc Lutheran High School…from the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association. The local school is one of ‘22’ in the state presented with an Award of Excellence in 2017-2018. Manitowoc Lutheran and the other recipient high schools will be given their award & certificate at the Fall Area meetings…and be recognized for the achievement on the WIAA website, in their statewide bulletin and, at the Annual Meeting. Criteria applied toward the Award of Excellence includes:
*Athletic Director conducted regular meetings with a Captain’s Club/Team leadership Council where sportsmanship, ethics and/or integrity is on the agenda and discussed.
*Coaches and student-athletes attended a sportsmanship summit or leadership conference.
*The A-D made the student body aware of sportsmanship initiatives through school assemblies, posters, announcements etc.
*Three or more athletic teams ‘gave-back’ to their school or community through volunteerism.
*And, their athletic program had ‘no’ coach ejections at any level.
