There’s a chance veteran linebacker Antonio Morrison will play a few snaps for the Packers Thursday night in the final preseason game at Kansas City. Five days ago, he was a member of the Indianapolis Colts who was losing playing time because the team switched from a three-four defense to a four-three. Now, he figures to be an important player on defensive coordinator Mike Pettine’s squad. The Packers’ three-four is better suited to Morrison’s skillset. Injuries created the need and G-M Brian Gutekunst made the trade. Morrison has spent most of his time since arriving in meetings and studying the playbook. Most of the starters will likely rest with the regular season set to open next week. The Pack are 2-and-1 in exhibition play so far. The Week One opener is on September 9th against the Chicago Bears at Lambeau Field.
