The record setting rainfall that has slammed the state over the past few days did not leave Sheboygan County unscathed. According to Lt. James Gottsacker of the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, there are several hazards throughout the county, including downed electrical wires are trees. The Department is encouraging those who don’t need to be on the roads to stay home. Crews are working diligently to clear the hazards, but they have been swamped with new reports of hazards. The Village of Cascade is also asking the public to remain out of the area until a hazard they are experiencing is dealt with. There have also been reports of flooding on all lanes of Highway 42 outside Howards Grove. The entire highway was closed to traffic at County Highway FF to Orchard Road for around two hours.
