Last week we reported a sewage leek in Fond du Lac County, which had made its way to the Sheboygan River. With the recent heavy rains and flooding, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection is reminding farmers that all produce touched by flood waters should be discarded, unless you can confirm it remained untouched by any contaminated water, be it by sewage, farm run-off, or industrial pollutants. While this statement goes for all farmers with produce in the field, those in Sheboygan County that are in the vicinity of the Sheboygan river and its connecting creeks should take extra note of the warning.
