
Heavy thunderstorms moved through the lakeshore area overnight resulting in 2.5 inches of rain in the city of Manitowoc. Police lieutenant Robert Arps told Seehafer News this morning there was heavy rainfall between 1:30and 2:30am, creating some flooding in low-lying areas. He also reported some bigger branches down along side streets but no reported power outages or damage to vehicles or homes. Arps did say the storm triggered some burglar/fire alarms overnight. In Two Rivers, another indicidual also recorded 2-and-a-half inches of rain this morning. Police Lieutenant Scott Hodek said there are “a few branches and leaves down” in the Cool City, but no reports of damage or signs of flooding at this point.
