A 15 year old Valders teen has been working very hard to prepare his pig Wilber to show at the Manitowoc County Fair. Lots of other children have as well, but what makes Cody Otto-Stahl’s story special, is that he has the neurological condition known as autism, and also suffers from muscular dystrophy. Cody used his motorized wheel chair to follow Wilber throughout the ring. Wilber will be auctioned off, as is customary, with all proceeds going to benefit the Miracle League of the Lakeshore. The Miracle League is a baseball program that is played on a specialized surface so those with special needs can join in the fun of America’s pastime. Cody has been playing baseball with the Miracle League for the past three years. As for the inspiration for the name of the pig, Cody drew from his favorite movie, Charlotte’s Web.
