La Crosse Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Underage Boy

A 12-year-old La Crosse boy tells authorities he woke up on a couch where a party was being held last weekend to find a man sexually assaulting him.  Eighteen-year-old Courtland J. Canady was initially charged with underage drinking, then a sexual assault charge was added.  Police say Canady admitted the assault.  He told investigators he shouldn’t have been drinking and he reportedly said he “needs help.”  A preliminary hearing is scheduled for one week from today in La Crosse County Circuit Court.
