More Details have been released in connection to yesterday’s fire at Extreme Audio in Manitowoc. Fire Chief Todd Blaser says Manitowoc Police Officer John Bennett was on patrol in the vicinity of South 26th street around 6 a.m. when he saw smoke coming from the eaves and roof of the structure and reported it to authorities. Crews said heavy smoke conditions were visible upon arrival. An interior attack was performed and fire was found in the garage area of the local business and quickly extinguished followed by overhaul, salvage operations and smoke removal. The structure was unoccupied and no one was hurt during firefighting efforts. MFRD personnel remained on scene for about three hours and were assisted on scene by several fire and law enforcement agencies along with Manitowoc Public Utilities and Wisconsin Public Service. There is no dollar loss amount available at this time and the cause of the fire remains under investigation. Chief Blaser says MFRD thanks Officer Bennett’s keen sense of observation skills that were a benefit to limiting damage and aiding in the extinguishment of the fire.
