It was a rare occurrence yesterday afternoon in Manitowoc, when the SS Badger came in late and left late. The ship arrived just after 2:00 PM and witnesses in Ludington said that there was difficulty loading wind towers on the ship Saturday. The Manitowoc ground crew worked feverishly to get vehicles unloaded and cars headed to Michigan loaded. Passengers were assured that the Badger would work up enough steam to make up for lost time. The ship finally cast off at 4:08 Michigan time and arrived just after 8:00 PM. Everything should be back on schedule today.
