Crews from the Sheboygan Fire Department were dispatched to the 2100 block of Pershing Avenue on a report of a duplex catching fire. Firefighters arrived on the scene at around 6:30 PM, but did not see any smoke emitting from the structure. When they entered the residence, a bedroom in the rear of the building was found to be on fire. Crews battled the blaze for around three hours, containing it to that room. It is estimated that the inferno caused around $25,000 in damage, but they is insure what started it. No injuries were reported.
