A former top Milwaukee County official faces more than three years in prison when she is sentenced later this month. Former County Supervisor Peggy West entered a guilty plea to an election fraud charge Wednesday. West was accused of falsifying the nomination papers she submitted to earn her place on the spring ballot. She lost that election. Prosecutors told the court several people said they never signed her petitions, even though their names appeared there. West also certified that she had collected signatures when the people who signed said it wasn’t West passing the petition.
