A seller’s real estate market promises to increase the average assessment of Janesville properties by about 20 percent. That southern Wisconsin city is re-assessing property for the first time in a few years. State guidelines for levy limits will keep the changes under control, for the most part. Janesville city officials say their property assessments are already well below the allowable limits. The city assessor’s office will collect data on transactions until March.
