The driver of a car which hit a horse early Sunday morning is expected to recover. The horse won’t. Mount Pleasant police say the accident happened shortly after 4:30 A-M. The driver told officers the horse came out of nowhere, there was an impact and the car slammed into some trees. The driver was injured and treated at Wheaton Ascension Hospital. The owner says the horse may have escaped through a break in a fence before wandering onto the road. Arrangements were made to remove the animal and bury its remains.
