Nebraska-based West Corporation has informed the state it plans to lay off 148 workers at two of its three Wisconsin locations. The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development has been informed. That state agency was told the layoffs are coming because a major client canceled its contract. Several state and local agencies are providing Rapid Response services to the workers affected by the move. Thirty-six will be laid off at the Green Bay branch office and another 112 in Middleton.
