The U-S Chemical Safety Board reports the raging fire at the Husky Energy refinery in Superior last April was created by an explosion. Debris from the blast was thrown into an asphalt storage tank, leading to the fire which forced hundreds of people to be evacuated. The cause of the explosion is still being investigated. A worn valve may be to blame. Thirty-six people had to seek medical attention, including 11 workers at the refinery.
