Madison-based Alliant Energy offers a two-billion-dollar plan to cut carbon emissions by 80 percent and eliminate the use of coal. The company’s 2018 Sustainability Report says its goal is for renewable sources to represent more than 30 percent of the energy mix by 2030. Alliant has more than one million customers in Wisconsin and Iowa. It says it is transforming its energy fleet while considering cost, carbon reduction and providing clean and reliable power to customers
