The city of Manitowoc public infrastructure committee will meet tonight to consider the approval of a feasibility study in the amount of $44,237 for a possible pedestrian bridge between lower Schuette Park and Manitou Park in Manitowoc. This study will determine whether the river bank and soil can support a 12-foot wide, pedestrian bridge with concrete deck. At earlier meetings, there was discussion of a possible 180-foot span across the Manitowoc river and also talk of 2-shorter bridges both landing on the island between the parks. This proposed bridge linking Manitou and lower Schuette Park would cost an estimated $450,000. The public infrastructure will meet at 5:30 tonight in the council chambers at Manitowoc City Hall.
