Police in the Village of Oregon say a 38-year-old man’s mother called them when he threatened to kill himself while the two of them were arguing. Responding officers say Joshua Jones wouldn’t come out of the home and wouldn’t pick up a ringing telephone. His brother eventually helped them make contact and Jones was taken into custody without incident. His mother says she left the home when he showed her the shotgun. She called police because she didn’t feel safe.
