Cell phone users may find it difficult to impossible to complete calls for another 24 hours after damage was done to a fiber optic cable. The problem was first reported Tuesday afternoon. The Taylor County Sheriff’s Office says cell phone service in a 50-mile radius around Medford is impacted. People are being warned they might not be able to call 9-1-1 in the event of an emergency until the repairs are complete. Land phone lines aren’t affected by the outage.
