A 64-year-old Town of Lakeside woman is accused of leaving a decaying cow carcass on her property for several months. One neighbor says the cow died in April. Lyla Mae McJaast faces a misdemeanor charge of failing to dispose of a carcass. She made an appearance last month in Douglas County Circuit Court and is scheduled to return in September. Deputies were called to her property earlier this year when her cows were reported to be loose on a nearby road and on a neighbor’s property.
