Officials with the Town of Holland don’t like the way their failure to meet a payment deadline has been characterized. They say they are going to pay their share of the cost of a new fire truck for the Holmen Area Fire Department. Those town officials say they’ve explained more than once that they were going to get a loan from the Board of Commissioners for Public Lands. That loan couldn’t be approved until the town board met Tuesday. The deadline was July 10th. Leaders from the Town of Holland had questioned the need for the 860-thousand dollar truck. They say they’ve been bullied by the Town of Onalaska and the Village of Holmen.
