Manitowoc Police Lieutenant Mark Schroeder says there will be two meetings early next month to discuss bow hunting in the city of Manitowoc. The one-hour sessions are scheduled for the lower level meeting room at the MPD on August 7th beginning at Noon and again at 6:30pm. Schroeder says both meetings will cover items including the purpose for the hunt, the type of permission needed to bow hunt in the city and the rules set by the city to conduct a safe hunt. The deer population in Manitowoc causes damage and problems for property owners & vehicle drivers alike. Bow hunting & land owner applications can be obtained & submitted on the city website, under the Police department page..or at the front counter of the MPD Monday thru Friday 7:30-to-4:30. New this year, all bow hunting & land owner applications have to be returned to the Manitowoc Police Department by September 7th in order to be processed by the start of the archery season.
