Manitowoc Public Schools believe that no effort is too great when it comes to school safety. That statement from Superintendent Mark Holzman this week after the MPSD received $227,000 from the State’s School Safety Grant Program.
Holzman explained the money also makes possible some equipment upgrades in the local district.
The grant is part of a $100 million dollar allocation through the Department of Justice’s Office of School Safety and was awarded by Attorney General Brad Schimel in Kaukauna Tuesday. Superintendent Holzman added this, “We continue to strive to balance the physical safety components of our campuses with the core value of trusted personal relationships as the key to being the safest place for all.” He continued, “Locks, cameras and safety plans are vital, but we know it is the trusted connection of our students, staff and visitors that ultimately provides safety and security.”
