Federal inspectors have determined a state-run psychiatric facility still isn’t in compliance with Medicare standards. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services had planned to terminate the Winnebago Mental Health Institute’s participation in the Medicare program three weeks ago. The date was extended, but a revisit still resulted in the same finding. The state of Wisconsin has submitted a plan of correction to address the concerns. The death of a patient in May first brought the problems to light in a report by Green Bay television station W-B-A-Y.
