That’s UW-Manitowoc Extension Agriculture agent, Scott Gunderson, commenting on the Grand Opening weekend for the new Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center in Manitowoc County. The state of the art, interactive agricultural education center, at 7001 Gass Lake Road, is open this Saturday & Sunday from 9am-until-6pm. Doors are open for Farm Wisconsin members ONLY from ‘9-til-Noon’, after which the event will open to the general public. Gunderson said this venue “started with a dream” by the Norval & Jean Dvorak family.
The center seeks to educate visitors to better understand where their food comes from, and why Agriculture is so important to them. Marketing Director Angel Johanek said there are 6 themed exhibits for people to see.
Special ‘introductory’ ticket prices for this weekend (Saturday/Sunday) are $12.00 for adults and $6.00 for children, ages 4-to-18 and Free for those 3-and-under. The Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center plans to open for its normal business hours on Monday (July 30th)….from 10-until-6:00, seven days a week.
