Following a successful public hearing last month, legislators near the Highway 23 corridor from Plymouth to Fond du Lac are reminding constituents that the deadline is rapidly approaching to submit comments to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) in favor of the 4-lane expansion. More than 350 residents attended that public hearing. Local elected officials, area business leaders, and concerned citizens explained why the current two-lane highway is dangerous and how it is hindering economic growth in the area. Even so, several State legislators, including Senator Devin LeMahieu from Oosburg, and Representative Tyler Vcorpagel of Plymouth and Terry Katsma out of Oosburg noted that continued strong public participation is needed to demonstrate to the federal government the overwhelming local support for the expansion. Comments can be sent via email to Bryan Lipke of WisDoOT’s Northeast Region at Bryan.Lipke@dot.wi.gov, or by mail to 944 Vanderperren Way in Green Bay 54304.
