Home sales fell and prices rose statewide in the first six months of this year, according to an analysis from the Wisconsin Realtors Association. The report out today shows Sales were off nearly four percent compared to the same period a year ago, while tight inventories contributed to an increase of almost six percent in the median price. Here in Manitowoc County, the number of home sales dropped 19% in June (from 136 to 110) compared to the figure in June-2017. During that time, the median price went up a robust ‘39%’ to $125,000, compared to $89,900 last year. Another interesting statistic found houses were on the market for 25% fewer days than the same month a year ago, 93 instead of 125. Local realtors had sold 518 properties last month, down about one-half of a percent, but the median price on those houses went up almost 5% to $110,000.
